Should a dancer learn West Coast Swing first, or East Coast Swing?

A lot of dance instructors agree that East Coast Swing is easier to teach, but in the end, it all depends on what each dancer likes, and what each dance community prefers.

In the last part of this brief documentary about West Coast Swing, we learn how each dance developed on its own, the main differences between them and two theories about how the dance ‘slot’ came to be.
