Wiesbaden

Wiesbaden is the capital of the German state of Hesse. The city of 350,000 forms a metropolitan area together with Frankfurt and Mainz that are a mere 25 and 10 minute train ride away. The entire RheinMain area is known for very warm and sunny summers and relatively mild winters. Still: It is the summers when the salsa scene really comes to live with many open air events throughout the region.

In Wiesbaden, the action takes place mainly in the city center around 1 km north of the main train station. There are open air events in summer and socials in different clubs and bars. Plus: In Mainz Kastel, on the right side of the Rhine there is free, open air dancing throughout the summer. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday about 100 dancers gather when the weather is fine for some salsa spins.
