The Taipei metropolitan area of 9 million is well connected with several skytrains and underground lines that are inexpensive, clean and safe. You can easily commute to the dance events and take an inexpensive Uber on your way back.

Taipei is located on the northern tip of the Island and extends in several valleys surrounded by high, forested mountains. To the north, Danshui is the ocean facing part of Taipei. The city is in a subtropical zone with hot and humid summers and mild winters. Rain is frequent and sometimes the city is hit by typhoons coming from the open ocean. And if that is not enough: there are occasional earthquakes as well. Yet do not worry: Infrastructure is build in a way to deal with moderate earthquakes and typhoons.
